Digital out of home – bus shelters, billboards and… bathroom mirrors?
A new digital OOH player has entered the market, allowing brands to advertise on bathroom mirrors.
Are shopping centre bathroom mirrors set to become the new competitive frontier for OOH? Living Image Media has launched with its primary digital offering, an interactive mirror to display advertising in public restrooms.
The Interactive Digital Mirror plays full screen video and sound, offered in 10-second spots. If the mirror’s motion sensors determine someone is approaching the sink, the ad will minimise to the top left corner of the mirror and continue playing – the rest of the screen returns to a regular mirror.
“We offer an innovative first-to-market advertising format in Australia – Interactive Digital Mirrors,” says Living Image Media.
“Our Interactive Digital Mirrors are positioned within male, female and parent restrooms at key shopping centres across Australian capital cities.
“Each Interactive Digital Mirror provides opportunity for relevant and targeted brand messaging to reach people on a one-to-one basis in an uncluttered and intimate environment.”
The company says its phase-one rollout will see 50 Interactive Digital Mirrors installed across four Sydney shopping centres: Rouse Hill Town Centre, Macarthur Square, Menai Marketplace and Erina Fair.
Living Image Media says it plans to see another 400 units added to its network across Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in the immediate future.
